<p>If they open a shop avenue Montaigne in Paris, via Sant&#8217;Andrea in Milan, or in the Mayfair neighborhood of London, luxury brands always work with a well-known architect to create it. On the web, luxury brands also have this obligation of excellence, and re-creating the unique experience and feelings that we live while passing the door of their shop is not easy.</p>

<h3>History</h3>
<p>The idea of <a href="http://www.flatsbook.com/" target="_blank"><strong>flatsbook</strong></a> came to Marine and Romain Lietar during a trip in New York :</p>
<p>« The idea came along to me during christmas 2008, when I was on my way to New York with my boyfriend. Thanks to Romain, who has been living there for more than a year, and his acquaintances, we have been able to sublet an apartment in the heart of Greenwich Village for a more affordable price than a hotel. More particularly, we rediscovered New York, as if we lived there!</p>
<p>Our favourite habits were: the French nutella pancake below the apartment as breakfast, the 1 dollar slice of pizza (that is the half-pizza!) on Bleeker Street, the neighbourhood laundrette around the corner, and not to mention the Santa and candies for sale that we passed every day on MacDougal Street!</p>
<p>Upon our return, we discussed the idea alot, and we started to work! Our objective was to create a community website that offers deals for apartment rentals, long and short time periods in the biggest cities in the world. And thus Flatsbook was born!».</p>
<h3>How it works</h3>

<p><a href="http://www.flatsbook.com/" target="_blank"><strong>flatsbook</strong></a> is a platform allowing members to offer their apartments for rent and thus bring it into line according to criteria defined and filled with sincerity. The owner registers his profile, choose his subscription (20 € for one month 90 € for the year), manages his availability through a calendar and publishes its listing on the site. Payment can be made either by credit card or via PayPal.</p>
<p>Users refine their searches by selecting the city, dates, budget, or the number of travelers. These filters are tools to target better their needs and also to respond quickly.</p>
<p>The &#8220;flatsbookers&#8221; interested in an apartment that match their criteria, may find the feedback left by previous tenants, the member which is attached as well as information about the owner’s network. Indeed, members can request and accept to connect and so, expand their network and rent their apartment in trust to a friend of a friend.</p>
<p>The exchanges between members performed live on the website through integrated messaging, as are reservations with payment of a deposit via secure online payment.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flatsbook.com/" target="_blank"><strong>flatsbook</strong></a> also offers a guide of excellent ways to discover the city (shopping, exhibitions, restaurants, etc.) beyond the &#8220;postcard&#8221; cliché image. Thanks to the &#8220;citybook&#8221;  members can exchange their favourite addresses, and also follow the cultural and social life of their chosen city. It no longer the priviledge of the native to know the best hotspots in the city!</p>
